Outside the Window

Let me start off by telling you that today is June 1, 2017, and I am from Long Island. Typical New York weather is all over the place, not unlike the rest of the northeastern area of the US. Today is actually pretty beautiful, although all I can see from my window at work is the parking lot and a whole lot of trees lined up against the street. I can’t actually see the street, but I know it’s there. I can literally only see the trees and the lot of cars, SUVs, and Soccer Mom vans. The sun is shining, there are barely any clouds in the sky—and since I ran outside to take a quick picture, I can even tell you that it even feels really nice outside. The breeze is very light, yet cool. I was comfortable with my work pants and cardigan on. I’d say it’s like Miss Congeniality’s idea of April 25th.

It’s quite literally a perfect day. (In my opinion, at least.)

Being outside just for a couple of minutes definitely made me a little sad, knowing I had to come back to my desk. It’s so beautiful out that I didn’t want to turn around. You can’t really blame me, since most people usually feel the same way, when in similar situations.

Since it’s so nice out, I might even just take my sandwich and book to the picnic table outside the office for lunch. I’d like to enjoy what’s left of spring.

I honestly wish the next three months could be just like today. (You know, minus the whole having to be at work part.) I’ve really been much of an outside type of gal, but I could be. I just need a chair, pink lemonade, and a good book…or even just my dogs to entertain me. That sounds so ideal for me right now.

Maybe if I’m lucky, the sun will still be out when I leave work. If it is, I will definitely be taking whatever time is left to soak up the sun. That would be nice.

Prompt: What’s the weather outside your window doing right now? If that’s not inspiring, what’s the weather like somewhere you wish you could be?
