Happy Friday, Friends!
Now that I’m finally back on track with my days, I can finally calm down a little bit! Honestly, If anyone didn’t see it coming that I was going to fall behind so quickly in the game, then you seriously don’t know me all too well. I am the queen of Procrasti-Nation.
(See what I did there?) (I’m very proud of myself.)
Anyway, so we’re ending the first full week of June. JUNE. Can you believe that? It feels like this year began last week, yet here we are—basically halfway through 2017.
In two weeks from today, Amanda will be a married woman, so tomorrow we will be going over whatever we can, and hopefully shorten her To Do list as much as possible. I’m more excited about Sunday, because we’re doing a little something for her bachelorette party.
Since Amanda would not have appreciated the normal kind of Bachelorette party, I tried to figure something out that she’d enjoy. After much brainstorming, I gave my brain a little break by going through my emails and deleting them. (Yes, I’m that kind of person. The notification bubble on the app of my phone bothers me a lot.) In the midst of deleting a hundred messages, give or take, a saw one from PaintNite, and then it hit me.
PaintNite would be perfect.
For those of you who don’t know what PaintNite is, basically it’s a class where you learn to paint a specific scene or object. I’ve done it a handful of times before, so I knew what I was getting into when I decided on that being the thing we do. I talked to Kaylin, a friend from high school and Amanda’s bridesmaid, and she agreed with my idea! With the okay, I reserved our seats.
So I am really excited to see how that goes on Sunday; I might just post some pictures of our outing!
I am also really eager to be writing this because my favorite author’s newest book was just released a few days ago, and I bought it last night! I’ve been reading Sarah Dessen’s books since I was in middle school, so this is a super exciting thing for me. She’s not like Danielle Steele when there’s another book every other week, so this book being released is a huge deal for me. I seriously cannot wait until I get home so I can start reading it!
Look out for a post about it again after I finish reading it, because best believe I will be writing about it. I haven’t disliked a book of hers yet, and this one is about one of my favorite things: weddings.
It’s actually kind of fitting for the time, right? I thought so, too.
So thanks for reading this and enjoying my excitement for these things in my life right now. I know it’s not much, but it doesn’t really take much to make me happy. (No really; just check out I Feel Good and My Favorite Things. It really doesn’t take much.)
Also, if you’re actually interested in YA novels, I totally recommend reading some (if not all) of Sarah’s books:
- That Summer
- Someone Like You
- Keeping the Moon
- This Lullaby
- Truth About Forever
- Just Listen (my favorite)
- Lock and Key
- Along for the Ride
- What Happened to Goodbye
- The Moon and More
- Saint Anything (my second favorite)
- Once and For All
Oh and I almost forgot to mention something! I’ve been taking driving lessons for the last several weeks, and it’s been going super well! My driving instructor, Miss Patricia, is actually god sent and somehow has had all the patience in the world for me, so I’m really grateful to finally get this show on the road (both literally and figuratively). I actually only have to learn parallel parking left, and then I can sign up for my driving test! I’m excited to receive texts or messages on my timeline saying “It’s about time,” and “Remind me to stay off the road”, and I’m even more excited to agree with those people, because I really just want to be able to go places.
Enjoy your weekend, everybody!
Prompt: Write about whatever you’d like! Make it short and sweet, or detailed and lengthy…just don’t bore yourself to death!
