Sometimes, I look at my dog and wonder what she was like before we took her home from the shelter. When we first met her, her name was Linda. You know, Linda—like a person’s name. We didn’t like it at all; it was a weird name for a dog.
When it rains, I like to set my room up. I keep my lights off, open my windows, set any candles I have ablaze, and have a relaxing day. Usually, that means I have a television marathon; I’ll catch up on my shows, watch some movies, try new shows—whatever I’m in the mood for.
If someone asked me to point out the worst time of the year in New York, I would tell them just about any time in between August and September. This is because as much as I hate the heat of summertime, I hate that awkward stage in between Summer and Fall even more. It’s like a huge tease; mornings are cool and crisp, perfect for jeans and sweaters—and then by noon, we’re sweating through our clothes.
